The official announcement, at JECRC, regarding the programme Dream Spark was made by Mr.Moorthy K Uppaluri, General Manager and Country Head Microsoft India in the presence of reverent Ashok Gehlot, Chief Minister, Rajasthan on 15th September,2010.
The day witnessed the glory of the college Jaipur Engineering College & Research Centre, Jaipur with it being the first in the nation to be awarded with Microsoft Innovation Alliance Member.
As the first member of this alliance in the Country, JECRC will be a part of Microsoft`s Live@edu programme to enhance community-level collaboration in education. Through such efforts, Microsoft builds the capability of both teachers and students to use ICT in education for overall improvement of education standards, he said.
It will be a bridge between industry and students strengthen students` skills and make them more employable, he said.
The Dream Spark programme became alive with a pious thought of providing software developer and designer tools free of cost to at least ten lakh students in the state. The MoU signed by Rajasthan Technical University Rajasthan University with Microsoft India avails this service.
The programme aimed to equip a new generation with the knowledge and tools, they need to harness the magic of software to improve lives, solve problems and spur economic growth, Uppaluri said.
Dream Spark is a suite of the latest Microsoft software developer and designer tools, including Visual Studio 2005/ 2008/ 2010, Professional edition, SQL Server 2008 Express.
Moorthy also presented a certificate of award to JECRC Foundation Directors Amit Agarwal and Arpit Agarwal at the induction ceremony.
